From Rio to Amsterdam
Olá! My name is Maíra, and I’m from the wonderful city of Rio de Janeiro. I’ve been living in Amsterdam for over 10 years and have also lived in Brussels. These experiences have helped me understand up close the challenges and joys of learning and communicating in a new language.
In addition to being passionate about languages, I love literature and cinema, elements I enjoy incorporating into my classes.
I have a degree in Portuguese and English Languages and Literatures and over 15 years of experience as a translator and proofreader, which has given me a strong command of the Portuguese language.
I am currently completing a postgraduate program in Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE) to refine my teaching skills and offer clearer, more structured, and personalized lessons, always in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
It will be a pleasure to guide you on your journey to learn Portuguese.
